AB  - The cadenza of the Et incarnatus by Mozart can be related to two earlier operatic arias due to a musical motif common to all three pieces. The shifts in meaning which take place between the pieces allow us to analyse the sense of the sublime produced during mass, in the paradoxical context of a concertante aria which tends towards the ornamental miniature.
