Abstract: If we observe the reception of American poetry in Poland in terms of aesthetics or publishing, it is clear that these aspects have been determined by events and phenomena of a political nature. With the hindsight of the twenty-five years which have passed since the fall of Communism in Poland, that is, since 1989, we see with ever-increasing clarity the extent to which political conditions affected Polish literature and culture.
