François Cheng observateur, contemplateur et poète des visages

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work:
    Variations et inventions
. Mélanges offerts à Peter Schnyder
  • Author: Bertaud (Madeleine)
  • Abstract: While it is not autobiographical, Le Dit de Tianyi by François Cheng is in certain respects a testimony; it is a “novel of the artist”. An observer of faces, François Cheng soon became their contemplator and poet. This article develops and supports this statement, seeking to explain a phenomenon which surpasses the curiosity and even the interest of an enlightened amateur of art.
