  • Abstract: Jean de la Croix is the poet-theologian not only of night but also silence. If it is true that faith reaches us through sound (Rm 10, 17), the Sanjuanist mystic opens an abyss at once speculative and theological under our feet by moving beyond not only intellectuality and discursiveness but also the theological virtues, which only music – the song of the soul – has the power to reveal.
