- Abstract: Laclos’ Dangerous Liaisons and Mozart’s Don Giovanni share a juxtaposition of different styles, which in turn are linked to different conceptions of the world, in an erudite polyphony. In order to escape from the moralizing reading of these works along with their postmodern, cynical, and neo-libertine reading, the article attempts to reconstruct the meaning of this genuine polyphony which allows for the expression of the richness and poetry of worldviews without treating them on a hierarchical basis.
