- Abstract: Food is a major component of Verlaine’s erotic poems. By revealing the poet’s taste for tastes and flavors it also indicates the aesthetic evolution of his erotic collections of poems based on greed, gluttony, taste and distaste in addition to their ideological issues. Femmes and Hombres uncover a new erotic manner of tasting.
