- Abstract: Between 1919 and 1924, Marcel Achard collaborated almost daily on the theater sections of the newspapers Bonsoir and Le Peuple. His opinion pieces, interviews, and reviews mockingly depicted the events of the Parisian stage and probed the faults and qualities of new and revived plays, authors, and performers with conviction. These early writings bear witness to the young journalist’s commitment to the trade union movement and herald the comic and poetic ingenuity of the future author.
