- Abstract: Musical topics talked about during World War I in the general and specialized press caused Proust to reflect, and his thoughts are to be found in coded guise in the volumes written during these events, often influencing the way the narrative progressed and giving birth to episodes which had not originally been planned. These articles not only contributed to reinforcing the musical esthetic of a Proust who intended to resist any form of nationalist pressure, but they also enriched the character of the musician.
