Abstract: This volume gather together the four first comedies by Jean-François Regnard (La Sérénade, Le Bourgeois de Falaise, Le Joueur, Le Distrait) as well as his only opera, Le Carnaval de Venise. Considered as one of the best comic authors of his day, Regnard was systematically compared to Molière.
