Le prodigue et son muet Roussel entre surréalisme et nouveau roman

- Abstract: Michel Foucault’s formula, according to which Raymond Roussel’s œuvre has been running « beneath our language for years », implies that Roussel’s impact has never been interrupted. We take on this proposition, even if Foucault deduced a break between the reading made of it by the Surrealists and its re-emergence, twenty-five or thirty years later. Did French fiction between the 1930s and 1950s register the effects of this shock, or not at all?
