Abstract: This article examines the fortunes of the writer-journalist, who embodies in Quebec a certain ideal of literary versatility, or polygraphy. It is based on the example of Berthelot Brunet (1901-1948), a columnist who considered journalism and, more generally, polygraphy as a way to put his writing freedom into practice.
