- Abstract: This article analyses the tensions between presence and absence in Bloy’s La Femme pauvre, by way of games between figures, notably between reticence and its opposite, an ironic and sarcastic profusion of the highest degree. These figures of hyperbolic vituperation exacerbate points of view in confrontation, with phenomena of under- and over-enunciation which obscure the initial ambition to give a voice to the force of the sacred in the world.
