Abstract: This article questions the conditions which validate an interpretation, in this case of the Quart Livre. How to make sense of the links between different spheres of voice (character, narrator, enunciator, and author), narrative areas (thematic series, problematic episodes of characters) and distinct discursive regimes? The critical field must integrate this dynamic tension in its own praxis to make a veritable hermeneutic conflict possible.
