Abstract: The relationship with speech from on-high pertains to the rapport with authority, with the authorities. Studying it through personal writing allows us to measure the circulation of information and the acceptance of discourses and to trace its appropriation. This article analyses the status of speech from on-high in the work of writers, and the narratives constructed from it.
