- Abstract: Brittany is often seen as an ecologist stronghold. Yet, despite their significant electoral results, Breton Greens are hardly present in the institutions. If the ecologists, during the last decades, have fostered the evolution of the region to the left, and a left incorporating an environmentalist and regionalist sensibility, they are nevertheless a secondary political force because of their historical internal divisions, and because of the strong dominance of the Socialist Party.
