• Abstract: This article focuses on the evocation of individual past of the Bundestag MPs under the Third Reich during the 1974 debate for the twenty-five years anniversary of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany. It underlines the difficulties and taboos associated with the evocation of this past, either the MPs has been persecuted by the dictatorship, or they have been a part of it. Most speakers were old enough to have lived under the Nazi regime, but they remained silent about this experience. However, the weight of this experience could be used as a means of pressure, like a sword of Damocles over the speaker.
  
  Der Beitrag untersucht die Thematisierung und Tabuisierung von individuel- ler NS-Belastung und NS-Verfolgungserfahrung in der Bundestagsdebatte zum 25. Jubiläum des Grundgesetzes 1974. Die meisten Redner waren zwar alt genug, um das Dritte Reich miterlebt zu haben, verschwiegen jedoch diese Erfahrung. Allerdings konnte die NS-Belastung eines Abgeordneten auch als Druckmittel gegen
  diesen wirken, wenn diese als ‘ofenes Geheimnis’ wie ein Damoklesschwert über seinem Rednerpult hing.
