• Abstract: In the winter of 1975, Jacques Rancière helps co-found a journal with a distinctly rimbaldian title: Les Révoltes logiques. The thirteen issues of this journal sought in various ways to reinvigorate the left by exploring both the loss of viable forms of revolt and the various forms of possible micro-revolts which are contained in trace form in Rimbaud’s prose poem "Democratie". This article proposes a re-reading of Rimbaud’s poem in the light of the fate, logic, and evolution of both Les Révoltes logiques and Rancière’s larger critical corpus.
