Abstract: In « The Tortured heart », « The Heart of the Clown », or « The stolen Heart » (three titles for the same text), the poet identifies himself with Jesus. He rewrote the scene of The Mocking of Christ : Rimbaud composed both a manifesto of « new literature » and a heterodox criticism of Catholicism.
