La « Trilogie » de Beaumarchais Entre théâtre et roman
- Publication type: Article from a collective work
- Collective work: Nouveaux regards sur la trilogie de Beaumarchais
- Author: Ramond (Catherine)
- Abstract: At the time Beaumarchais was writing, theatre, and notably drama, took the novel as a model and the two genres were becoming more similar. The whole trilogy, with its paratexts, surpasses the temporal and spatial frameworks of classical theatre and gives a rare depth to the life of the characters, without compromising the autonomy of the plays, each of which benefits from multiple illuminations, or diminishing their theatrical quality.
