Abstract: War, combat, debate: Nathalie Quintane has taken sides–and red it is. Prose after poetry is a cause and, in part, her cause. Beyond the poem, beyond the “je”, something takes place, colouring a curious and critical sentence; an utterance which gets angry, exclaims, and is amazed as it imagines the world being broken down and built up. Emphasising both the habit and the exception, Nathalie Quintane invents, to the rhythm of her books, a form of prose which de-idealises; work from the negative, but in colour.
