- Abstract: By analysing a series of romances and short stories which perpetuate the motif of the « entry into the Other World », this study develops a typology of strategies which are a textual signal for marvellous motifs. Sometimes implicit, sometimes explicit, these markers also lend themselves to deliberate blurring as in the work of Chrétien de Troyes, who creates an ambiguous universe where the marvellous and the realistic intermingle.
