• Abstract: This article is based on the observation that those rare fabliaux which explicitly claim to include the marvellous distinguish themselves even further through their common tendency to convoke the figure of Saint Martin. This presence, apparently incongruous, expected in a hagiographic text, offers an interpretive key which allows us to decipher the narratives stakes of these fabliaux and grasp their common rapport with the supernatural, which brings miraculosus down to the order of the matter-of-fact and the magicus.
