- Abstract: The personification of the genitalia is a comic process typical of the literary genres characterised by brevity (fabliaux, dits, debates, comic monologues, farces, etc.). This article holds that the marvellous associated with this process seeks less to interrogate the literary form than the very form of the human body, challenging the social taboos which dictate the rapport with the body.
