- Abstract: Radiguet admired Feuillet’s novel, Julia de Trécœur. But was he inspired by it when he wrote Le Bal du comte d’Orgel? This is the question the article seeks to answer. It establishes a series of parallels between the two works at the level of plot, character, themes, and writing. It draws the conclusion that Radiguet scarcely submitted to the influence of his predecessor.
