- Abstract: Based on some examples of readings of Corinne, this study emphasises Mme de Staël’s literary strategies. This sentimental novel of Staël is characterised by an extraordinary complexity which brings together the domains of the emotions and the arts. It is founded on a codification of the text as iconotextual writing, as well as an eroticisation of commemorative sites and works of art through love, which is expressed through the state of her characters’ souls.
