Abstract: To evoke the presence of nature in Poésies II by Georges Schehadé is first to raise the question of the picturesque and of exoticism in the work of a poet who tends towards the universal. Does nature relate more to the imaginary than to a real presence? In effect, through a game of metamorphoses the “dissolution of the landscape” leads us to consider nature less as the matter of poetry than the material of poetic writing, which finds in it one of the sources for its most fascinating images.
