- Abstract: Le Prophète (1923) by Khalil Gibran is, as we know, a cult book, which Schehadé was deeply interested in, and which he twice began to translate. This study traces the implicit presence of the figure of the prophet in two texts by Schehadé, Monsieur Bob’le (1951) et Poésies VII (1998), and the movement of this figure of enunciative power towards ghostly, fragile, and evanescent forms.
