Abstract: The examination of the syntactical and rhythmic structures of the verse and poems of “Jardin” in Les Poésies shows how Schehadé applies his principle of taking words from everyday language. He is engaged in an initiation into a deepening of existence, which emerges from and aims at the cultural, linguistic, and mythological repertoire. In this movement, the everyday joins the mythical, and these two poles are enriched by a poetic vision whose originality is inscribed in the linguistic architecture of the Poésies.
