- Abstract: Late in Les Poésies, the figure of the hunter connotes disorder and death, reinforcing the already melancholy tone of the verse. Its role is more developed in Schehadé’s theatre, in particular in Les Soirées des Proverbes, the plot of which is determined by the hunter Alexis. The study traces a filiation between Alexis and the figure of the poet depicted in the work of Supervielle. The most emblematic character in Schehadé’s writings is Argengeorge, a double of the bird as well as the hunter.
