Abstract: This contribution provides an overview of the staging of Monsieur Bob’le when directed by the author in 1993 in the Vieux-Colombier theatre (Comédie-Française). Conceived in a spirit of naivety which dialogues with Giotto as much as with Bibi Fricotin or Pim Pam Poum, the space offers, in the first and second acts, a miniscule room, a place of coming together and contact, which contrasts with the immense hospital ward of the third act, a place of goodbyes and the active presence of time.
