Abstract: Nobility often appears in the work of Serge Dalens, the pioneering author of the collection of scouting novels “Signe de piste”, but it is not only a nostalgic symbol of social order. At a more personal level, it reveals a process of personal interrogation about familial transmission, specifically that which links son to father, and, for the author, it participates in a process of self-invention in which writing plays a determining role.
