Abstract: The more or less glorious end of aristocratic families between the late nineteenth century and the First World War created an abundant literature testifying to an aristocratic reaction translated through the publication of manifestos, the creation of schools, and participation in salon activities. This agitation led to the creation of a term, the aristie, around which a certain number of issues related to the aristocracy crystallised.
