- Abstract: Calquing is quite a frequent phenomenon in Tunisian political discourse. Politicians often borrow French expressions and translate them literally into Arabic, using audiovisual means in their speeches during political debates. However, the transfer of these expressions poses numerous problems because some of them do not present the same constraints that they do in French.
