- Abstract: This preliminary study describes different types of online dictionaries and some of their most salient features; this research also traces the profile of an important category of online dictionary users: university foreign language students. This study aims at investigating whether young language learners are prepared to exploit all the different enhancements online dictionaries offer and sketches some possible integrations of this kind of tool into language education.
