- Collective work: Le Sens de la justice, une « utopie réaliste » ?. Rawls et ses critiques
- Author: Girard (Charles)
- Abstract: In the work of Rawls, justice is at once a product and precondition of public deliberation. Yet how can it be exercised when profound disagreements concerning justice persist ? This article demonstrates that the coherence of democratic theories seeking to reconcile plausible psychological morals with elevated normative ambitions is threatened as soon as the consensus on the political conception of justice fails and the limits of the reasonable are contested.
