Sang d’encre Filiation et mélancolie dans la littérature contemporaine

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work:
Le Roman contemporain de la famille
  • Author: Demanze (Laurent)
  • Abstract: Family writings in the contemporary narrative often have melancholy in common. The latter, which subsumes a number of them, is also an ethic which turns the writing of filiation into an attempt at restitution which refuses to mourn departed ancestors. Between the spectral and the culpable, melancholy gives these tales the look of literary texts, attentive to the muffled voices of the past.
