- Abstract: In a space which is at once familiar and marginalised, to be a sibling appears as a fusional and yet profoundly alienating relationship which frames questions of singular identity, morals, or even familial recollections in new terms. In the three novels considered here –Splendid hôtel by Marie Redonnet, L’Enfant méduse by Sylvie Germain, and Rosie Carpe by Marie NDiaye– we see emerge the anxiety-inducing spectre of a twinning as fascinating as it is cruel.
