- Abstract: This contribution proposes to present the Précieuses, notably Madeleine de Scudéry, in terms of their engagement as poets, letter-writers and panegyrists. They position themselves against the representations of their masculine colleagues through a form of writing that establishes a link between the masculine précieux poetry and the female condition. Their concepts deconstruct the ideologies of their entourage, they “debrutalise” the prevailing discourse and express their will to correct and indeed to destroy the dominant norms.
