Abstract:La Pensée antiromantique moderne en France is the German Romanist Hugo Friedrich's habilitation thesis. Published in 1935, the work describes the current of opposition to Romanticism which made itself heard in France at the beginning of the twentieth century, and which had its origins in the conservative tradition of the nineteenth century.
