- Abstract: Since the “general economy” gives an account of all the human activities, it must help us think about aesthetic creation. Thus, poems, appear to Bataille as a pure sacrifice. Even though a certain number of contemporary thinkers are fascinated by this representation of writing as a pure self-sacrifice, one can also see there an unreachable horizon which transforms energy, since part of modernity seeks to suppress all exchanges, as well as all possibility of expense.
