Rousseau, écrivain clandestin malgré lui à travers sa Correspondance

2015, n° 23 - Author: Viglieno (Laurence)
- Abstract: He is without doubt the least clandestine philosopher of his time. In his correspondence with his editors, he categorically refuses clandestine practices, without being able to escape from them entirely. It is the concern for his name which makes him reject false attributions with indignation. On the other hand, he shows little skill in identifying the anonymous writings cited by his friends. A particular case: his correspondence with a well-known “clandestine” in which Deschamps is the source of anxious curiosity.
