- Abstract: In his numerous conversation with scholars of his times, Guy Patin recorded, with undissimulated pleasure, abundant information on disreputable thinkers, among whom we find a number of Italians and Vanini in particular, on whom the Vienna manuscript brings us new and credible information concerning his stay in Paris, confirming the declarations of other sources. From this angle, the manuscript is of no small interest. Vanini is a classic example, which it is interesting to consider in the historiographical context of Vanini studies since their beginnings.
