- Abstract: At the same time as he was active in the world of clandestine publications, d’Holbach conducted his personal career centred on the composition and translation of scientific works published under his own name. The study of these texts reveals their subversive aspects : d’Holbach develops a highly original philosophical and espistemological syncretism, which strategically deploys the results of scientific research and scholarship in support of materialism and atheism.
