Abstract: The Examen de la religion is regarded here as an analysis of the Christian Church by a Christian who concludes that it is a false institution, founded on inauthentic testimony and fragile apologetic arguments, but also that all particular religions are in the same case and that the only authentic faith is to be attached to no particular cult.
