Abstract: First critical edition of this clandestine philosophical manuscript attributed to the baron d’Holbach, of which the copy was established by Charles-Claude Naigeon (1757-1832), the younger brother of Jacques-André, close companion and collaborator of d’Holbach. The author proceeds frequently by means of syllogisms to demonstrate the inauthenticity of the New Testament and the fallacious character of the religion founded by the self-styled Messiah.
