• Abstract: Over the last ten years, one can observe the symptoms of revisionism in Hungarian research on the 18th century. Eminent literary historians have called into question the tradition interpretation of the Enlightenment as a radical attack against the Christian religion. In the name of pluralism and brandishing the principle of « Enlightenment in national context », they demand that equal importance be given to intellectual movements compatible with traditional religious convictions.
