William Faulkner La Grande Guerre et la fabrique du héros détraqué
- Publication type: Article from a collective work
- Collective work: La Grande Guerre des écrivains : études
- Author: Guillain (Aurélie)
- Abstract: Faulkner did not fight in the Great War and yet the figure of the wounded or demobilised soldier resurfaces throughout his œuvre. While the American decors of the “apocryphal” Yoknapatawpha County animate his work, the battlefields provide him with matrix-like scenes in which the figure of the idealist is embodied and the protestations of the humble are raised.
