Abstract: If Musset’s critical production is relatively small, the poet nonetheless distils opinions on his own creations and those of his period throughout his œuvre. A rich discourse on the creative imagination, its motivations and its ends is elaborated under the mask of fantasy : criticism, omnipresent, can take the form of parody, pastiche or simple intertextual allusions.
