Abstract: In response to the work L'Œuvre et son ombre, which envisaged literary creation and critical reflection as two distinct discourses, one primary and the other secondary, the sixteen studies which are reunited here examine the different modalities of criticism which, from antiquity to the present day, have existed at the very heart of the work.
