Abstract: In the collection La longue Chaîne de l’encre (2008), Yves Bonnefoy experiments with a mode of hermeneutic empathy in relation to Melville and the American poet Hart Crane through the choice of two forms which are opposed at the level of constraint, but analogous with regard to their brevity : the remark and the sonnet.
